Cheryl Reinking, RN, MS has served 25 years at El Camino Hospital in progressive nursing leadership roles, her most recent being as Interim Chief Nursing Officer. Cheryl has led a number of hospital-wide initiatives and was key to the hospital’s implementation of the nationally recognized Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) program, which was designed to create increased patient-centric care for hospitalized older patients. She developed the hospital’s site-specific program.
Cheryl has been a part of virtually all clinical initiatives and performance improvement programs, including working as the Mountain View campus lead the Service Excellence Initiative under PaCT, co-chairing the Avoiding Readmissions Initiative team by partnering with skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), selection and implementation of new clinical technology, decreasing length of stay in critical care units, improving throughput, being nursing lead for the Norma Melchor Heart and Vascular Institute and Women’s service lines. She implemented the Bariatric surgery program and provided leadership to develop new and expanded behavioral health services programs including OATS, Aspire and MOMs programs at both campuses. She is also the administrative sponsor for nursing research and the central partnership council.
Cheryl is a member of the Community Benefit Advisory Board, Private Duty for Pathways Home Health and Hospice Board. She is certified by ANCC in advanced nursing administration and is sought out as a local, regional, and national speaker. In 2009, Cheryl received the YWCA TWIN award recognizing top women executives and the 2013 “Woman of Influence” Award by the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
